Well, Jaela broke her arm on Wednesday. It's just a minor break, but you can't tell that to an eight-month-old who just knows that her arm hurts. We're not sure how it happened, but all of a sudden she started screaming when that arm got moved so we took her to the pediatrician and he confirmed a small break. All we need to do is keep it immobilized and it should heal within 10-14 days. I took her in with a burp cloth safety-pinned around her arm and torso and the doctor said that looked good and to keep doing that. She's pretty happy considering her arm is broken and her PAM treatments are on Monday (she starts to hurt a few weeks before she gets them).
Her dad treated her to a movie that night :)
Update: I started this post some time on Thursday and since then Jaela's broken her leg. She was sitting on the table and leaned forward a little bit and I heard a "snap" and she started crying in pain. Luckily it just seems to be a micro fracture and it's not hurting as bad as her arm. Another OI mom came over that night and helped us splint it and gave us supplies. Seems odd that no one in the medical profession has ever taught us how to treat a break at home...
